Angel Do Maria- PSG and Manchester United close to outcome.

Angel Di Maria's proposed move from
Manchester United to Paris St-
Germain is "close" to being decided,
says the French team's coach Laurent
Blanc.
The Argentina midfielder has not
joined United on their pre-season
tour of America, and manager Louis
van Gaal has said he "does not know
why".
"There is a good possibility he could
sign but there is nothing official,"
said Blanc after a defeat by Chelsea.
"We have to have patience a little
longer. The outcome is very close."
French paper L'Equipe has reported
United have agreed a £46.5m deal
with the French champions for the 27-
year-old.
But it is understood talks are ongoing
with a fee yet to be agreed.
"He was not on the plane," said Van
Gaal after the 3-1 friendly win over
Barcelona in Santa Clara, California.
"Marcos Rojo was also not on the
plane. He has had a passport issue -
for Di Maria, I don't know why. I
cannot say anything."
Van Gaal said on Friday that Di Maria
would join United on their pre-season
tour of the United States, despite
rumours about a move to PSG.
However, it has now been claimed the
winger, who moved to the Premier
League from Real Madrid last summer
for a British record £59.7m, will travel
to New Jersey - where PSG are based
during their tour of the United States
- for a medical with the Ligue 1 club.

Vettel wins classic Hungarian GP

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel took a
surprise win in a chaotic, dramatic
and thrilling Hungarian Grand Prix as
Lewis Hamilton finished sixth.
Hamilton had a mighty let-off after an
error-strewn drive because title rival
and Mercedes team-mate Nico
Rosberg finished eighth after a late
puncture.
The result means Hamilton, in the
most unlikely circumstances, extends
his lead over Rosberg to 21 points.
Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat took his first
career podium in second.
Vettel's victory - his second of the
season - came as a huge surprise, and
the German dedicated it to French
driver Jules Bianchi, who died last
Friday and whose funeral Vettel was
one of many active F1 drivers to
attend on Tuesday.
A minute's silence was held for the
former Ferrari reserve driver on the
grid before the race and his family
attended the event.
Vettel said in French over the radio on
his slowing down lap: "Merci, Jules.
Cette victoire est pour toi." (Thank
you, Jules. This victory is for you).
He added in English: "You will always
be in our hearts. We know sooner or
later you would have been in this
team."
There was a further surprise behind
Vettel as Russian Kvyat took second
place despite being one of several
drivers to suffer penalties as a result
of driving transgressions.
He was handed a 10-second penalty
for taking an advantage by going over
track limits but held on ahead of
team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.
Ricciardo was involved in the incident
that dropped Rosberg from second
with four laps to go.
The Australian dived for the inside at
Turn One, ran wide and Rosberg's
trajectory on the inside of the corner
took his left rear tyre into contact
with Ricciardo's front wing,
puncturing it.
Ricciardo had to pit for a new front
wing but managed to take the final
podium position.
Behind him, 17-year-old Max
Verstappen took the best result of his
short career in fourth, ahead of
Fernando Alonso in fifth, by far the
strongest finish of McLaren-Honda's
dismal season so far.
Up front, the events that led to
Vettel's 41st victory - a number that
matches the tally achieved by three-
time champion Ayrton Senna - were
extraordinary and easily the most
exciting race of the season so far.
The win was made at the start, when
Vettel got the jump on both Mercedes
drivers, fought off Hamilton and took
the lead into the first corner.
Behind him, team-mate Kimi
Raikkonen passed Rosberg into Turn
Two for second place as Hamilton
dropped back to fourth.
But the drama on the opening lap was
not over, as Hamilton made a mistake
at the chicane midway around the
track and ran wide, dropping a
further six positions.
It was a most uncharacteristic
mistake by Hamilton, whose season
had until this event been almost
flawless. But the errors were not over.
As the Ferraris dominated at the front,
with Rosberg surprisingly unable to
keep pace, Hamilton set about
recovering lost ground.
He did so with some excellent
overtaking moves on Williams's Felipe
Massa, Force India's Sergio Perez and,
after the first pit stops, Red Bull's
Ricciardo.
Hamilton then set about closing the
gap to Rosberg and had reduced it to
six seconds when a dramatic incident
brought out the safety car on lap 43,
with 26 laps to go.
Nico Hulkenberg's Force India
suffered a total front wing failure on
the main straight, smashing into the
barriers and leaving carbon-fibre
debris all over the braking area for
Turn One.
Many drivers behind the top four
chose to take advantage of the safety
car period to switch to the grippier
soft tyre and, crucially, at the head of
them was Ricciardo in fifth at the
restart, with exactly 20 laps to go.
The Australian got a better exit from
the final corner than Hamilton and as
the world champion defended to the
inside, Ricciardo went for the outside.
Hamilton locked up on the dirty inside
line and slid into the side of the Red
Bull, breaking his front wing and
damaging Ricciardo's bodywork.
After hanging on with the damaged
part for a couple of laps, Hamilton
bowed to the inevitable and pitted for
a replacement.
He rejoined in 12th place, saying over
the radio: "I'm so sorry, guys. I'm
really sorry."
His engineer Peter Bonnington told
him to get his head down and chase
some points, and Hamilton did so,
passing the Saubers of Felipe Nasr
and Marcus Ericsson, Jenson Button's
McLaren and Romain Grosjean's Lotus
to take sixth place and eight points
that could be crucial in the title fight
in the second half of the season.
Raikkonen lost second place when his
engine suffered a hybrid system
failure, dropping him down the field
and eventually into retirement.

My Future is in the hands of Mino Raiola-Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic remained tight-
lipped on his PSG future amid
speculation linking him with
Manchester United, saying his
destiny is in the hands of agent
Mino Raiola.
Louis van Gaal hinted that he is in
the market for a striker, and several
UK newspapers have suggested the
Sweden international could be the
target.
The United boss has since
backtracked on those suggestions,
but Sky Bet have reduced their odds
to 3/1 on Ibrahimovic heading to Old
Trafford.
The striker scored as PSG beat
Fiorentina 4-2 in the International
Champions Cup on Tuesday morning,
and after the game Ibrahimovic said
any move will be dealt with by his
agent.
"Should I stay in Paris? My future is
in the hands of Mino Raiola," he told
Sky Italia.

Chelsea Bound? John Stones to Chelsea

Nearly nine in 10 Standard Sport
readers have backed John Stones to
successfully replace John Terry at
Chelsea in the long term.
The Everton defender, who it is
believed wants a move to Stamford
Bridge, is at the centre of a transfer
tussle that is threatening to turn
nasty.
Jose Mourinho has identified the
defender as Terry's successor in the
first team but the Toffees are
desperate to keep hold him and sent a
letter to the club officially declining
an opening bid.
Roberto Martinez has already hit out
at Chelsea for going public with their
interest in Stones, sparking a strong
reaction from Mourinho, who appears
to be growing impatient.
The Portuguese boss said on
Wednesday: "Our strategy for the
Premier League is going to change
next year. Next year we are going to
make the first bid on the first of
September. On the first of September
we will do a bid for the season later

Gunners eye mystery striker

It's not just Manchester United
keeping their transfer cards close to
their chests - Arsenal are also
reportedly ready to move for a
'mystery striker' should their efforts
to sign Real Madrid's Karim Benzema
fall through.
Arsene Wenger is understood to have
already told Benzema's agents that he
wants to sign the Frenchman, and is
gradually building up his efforts to
clinch a deal ahead of transfer
deadline day.

Arsenal GoalKeeper Wojciech Szcyesny could be heading to Roma on loan

Arsenal and Roma are in talks over a
possible loan deal for Wojciech
Szczesny, according to Sky sources.
Szczesny lost his place as Arsenal's
No 1 goalkeeper last season
following David Ospina's arrival,
and t his summer's signing of Petr
Cech has pushed both further from
the first team.
Arsene Wenger this month said he
would gladly keep both Szczesny
and Ospina despite Cech's arrival,
but he did hint at a possible
departure when he added: "We have
to see if they're happy as well. We'll
see what happens."

Liverpool has completed the signing of Aston Villa Striker Christian Benteke

Benteke, 24, has agreed a long-term
contract at Anfield and becomes their
second most expensive signing.
The Reds triggered a release clause in
his contract to make him their
seventh summer signing after selling
Raheem Sterling to Manchester City
for £49m.
Belgium international Benteke scored
49 goals in 101 games for Villa after
signing from Genk for £7m in 2012.
He told the Liverpol website: "I'm very
happy to be here. I came here to win
trophies. I came here to reach some
great goals with the team.
"It was the right club for me because I
had a good chat with the manager and
I wanted to be part of his project."
Liverpool struggled for goals last
season following the £75m sale of Luis
Suarez to Barcelona and prolonged
injury absences for England
international Daniel Sturridge as they
finished fifth in the Premier League.

Stambouli leaves Tottenham for PSG

The former France Under-21 player
made just 12 appearances for Spurs
after joining from Montpellier in
September.
Stambouli, 24, was in the Montpellier
squad that won the 2012 Ligue 1 title.
"France is going to rediscover a
player that was full of promise when
he was playing in Ligue 1," said PSG
president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
In total, Stambouli made 129
appearances for Montpellier before
making the move to the Premier

"I wasn't necessarily planning to
leave the Premier League after one
year but when a club with the
dimension of Paris St-Germain calls
you, it makes your choice a lot
easier," he said.

Newcastle United Signs Anderlecht Striker Aleksanda Mitrovic

" This a club with a very big history

There will be pressure here, for sure,
but I like pressure," said Mitrovic.
"I also know about the famous players
who have played for Newcastle
United, like Alan Shearer, who is a
hero of mine. I hope I can play like
him for this club. It will be an

Mitrovic scored 36 league goals in his
two years in Belgium, including 20
last season to be the league's top
scorer.
He cost the Belgian club £4.3m when
they signed him from Partizan
Belgrade two years ago.
Mitrovic, who was also a reported
target for Chelsea, scored an injury-
time equaliser in the Champions
League against Arsenal last season.
"He's moved from Partizan Belgrade
to Anderlecht, he has had to adapt to
a new league, and will do so again,"
McClaren told BBC Newcastle.
"He's got experience of Belgian
football, experience of the Champions
League and international football, just
breaking into the scene.
"We just want to get the boy training

Luis Filipe is close to leaving Chelsea-Jose Mourinho

The Brazil international, 29, has made
26 appearances for the Blues since
joining from Atletico Madrid for
£15.8m last summer but the two clubs
have been in talks about a return
move.
Mourinho said: "In this moment we
need a left-back because I think we
are selling Filipe Luis now or
tomorrow."
Chelsea have been linked with
Augsburg left-back Abdul Baba
Rahman, 21.
Mourinho, who led Chelsea to last
season's Premier League title, added
they are only planning to sign players
if others leave Stamford Bridge.
"At the moment we don't want
players. It's simple," he said.
"We must be ready because it looks
like the market is open, and there is
always a risk somebody comes for
one of our players or one of our
players shows an interest in leaving."

The 21-year-old joined Chelsea in

Forget Senegal 2016 Ticket-Le Roy tells Nigeria

Jubilant Congo coach, Claude
Leroy said he hope that his wards
can end the Nigeria’s dream for a
place at the eight team
tournament later in the year in
Senegal going by the latter’s 2-1
in Port-Harcourt on Sunday.
“We never contemplated about
beating the Nigerian team at
home because we are still
dreaming to be like Dream Team
of Nigeria. On Sunday we lost 2-1
but it was the Nigerian team that
created a lot of chances. They
were better but 2-1 loss is not too
bad for my players,” said the
veteran Frenchman.
For the Frenchman, the slim loss
was only an assurance that the
job was half done for his side and
believed that victory at home was
assured.
For his Nigerian counterpart,
Samson Siasia, there were
reasons to be optimistic since his
charges had shown overtime that
they are good travelers, following
recent victories away when they
dispatched off Gabon (4-1) and
Zambia (2-0) in Libreville and
Lusaka respectively to seal
qualification for the African
Games Brazzaville 2015.
“We got carried away (after
scoring two goals) instead of
concentrating on the match.
These are the areas we are going
to look at (before the second leg).
This team is still young. We have
a lot of things to put in place.
There is a lot of work to do before
the second leg in Congo but I’m
comfortable with the score line
today,” Siasia observed.
Nigeria managed a 2-1 win over
Congo on Sunday in front of a
partisan capacity crowd in Port
Harcourt in their third round first
leg clash of the African U-23
Championship Senegal 2015
qualifiers.
The encounter could have ended
in a convincing win for the hosts
after overwhelming the Red
Devils in the first half, but the
curtain raiser only came on 48
minutes through Junior Ajayi
after Congo goalkeeper,
Christoffer Mafoumbi failed to
hold on to an acute-angled shot
by Godwin Saviour.
Ajayi doubled the lead six
minutes later, when he powered
home with a brilliant header off a
cross from Daniel Etor.
However, Moise Nkonkou’s goal
in the 66th minute when he
rammed home a rebound from
Nigeria’s goalkeeper Emmanuel
Daniel meant there is still very
much to play for in the second
leg in Pointe Noire in a fortnight.
The second legs will take place in
a fortnight with winners
qualifying for the final
tournament of the African U-23
Championship scheduled for 28
November to 12 December in
Senegal, where the top three
teams will represent Africa at the
2016 Olympic Games in Rio de
Janeiro, and the fourth placed
team facing an Asian side in a
playoff.

Drogba confirms MLS talks.

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba
has confirmed that he is in talks to
sign for an MLS club.
The 37-year-old is a free agent after
being released by the Premier
League champions at the end of last
season.
He has been linked with a move to
Inter Milan but it looks as though he
now could be set to follow Steven
Gerrard and Frank Lampard in going
Stateside.
“I’m not aware of that situation
(with Inter),” the striker
told FCInter1908 .
“Inter are a great club, and
certainly if they were to contact me
I’d gladly listen to their offer, but
I’m currently in talks with an MLS
club.
“Inter could be an option if they
really are interested in me.”
It has been reported that Chicago
Fire are the MLS team in talks to
sign the Ivorian.
Drogba enjoyed two spells with
Chelsea, scoring a total of 164 goals
in 381 appearances and winning the
Premier League on four occasions.
He also won the Champions League
with the Blues and spent time with
Galatasaray in 2013/14.

Chelsea prepared to act over two major transfers- Jose Mourinho

Blues winger Salah spent the second
half of last season on loan to
Fiorentina as part of the £26.8million
transfer of Juan Cuadrado.
The Egypt international flourished in
Serie A, fuelling hopes he would make
his move to Florence permanent.
But the 21-year-old rejected the move
and is currently in limbo as Chelsea
consider what to do with their winger.
“I see his future elsewhere,”
Mourinho told Sky Sports .
“Either on loan or sold with an offer
we are happy to accept.
"We have five wingers and it is better
not to have Salah back.”
Salah arrived at Stamford Bridge in an
£11m deal from Basel in 2013 but
failed to cement his place in
Mourinho's first XI.
Inter are also reportedly in for the
player, while Chelsea themselves are
seeking midfield and defensive
additions.
One man reportedly on their radar is
Barcelona ace Pedro, who is valued at
around £22m.
But Chelsea will only make a formal
offer for the 27-year-old if someone
else is sold first - the boss insisted.
“I have five wingers , if I lose one
maybe I am interested in another but
at this moment I have balance and
quality and numbers," he said.
“It’s a big challenge for us to go
through the season with basically the
same team and squad from last
season.”

Chelsea's John stones bid angers Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez
has criticised Chelsea for publicising
their bid for defender John Stones.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho confirmed
his interest in the 21-year-old
England international, saying: "We
made a bid because we like the
player."
The Toffees are reported to have
rejected the £20m offer from the
Premier League champions.
"There is the disappointment of a club
making a statement to the press and
making it openly," said Martinez.
Speaking after his side's Asia Trophy
final 3-1 defeat by Arsenal, Martinez
added: "I don't think we'd do it and
speak about a player. John Stones is
an Everton player, full stop.
"We are not a selling club. We are not
a club that needs to be worried about
what other clubs put through the
press."
Stones, who made 23 Premier League
appearances last season, still has
four years to run on his current
Everton deal.
But Mourinho made no apologises for
his approach for the player, telling
Sky Sports: "When the transfer
window is open, every club and player
is open to bids.
"Bids come for our players and we
make bids for other players. The
process can be so simple.
"I would advise Roberto Martinez to
do the same thing I do. If I don't want
to accept any offer, I say 'I don't
accept any offer'. He can make it very,
very easy."

Emmanuel Frimpong-Ex Arsenal Player reacts to 'monkey chants'

Former Arsenal player Emmanuel
Frimpong was sent off playing for
Russian side FC Ufa after he gestured
to the crowd with his middle finger in
response to alleged monkey chants.
The midfielder, 23, was playing away
to Spartak Moscow in the opening
game of the Russian Premier League
season.
"When the match was stopped, the
fans started shouting 'monkey' at
me," said Ghana's Frimpong after the
2-2 draw.
"I just did not keep my cool, I showed
my emotions and it was my mistake."
Frimpong was shown the red card
after half an hour of the game in
Moscow, with the score at 1-1.
He wrote on Twitter after the match:
"A human being shouldn't be racially
abused for the game that I love. I'm
going to serve a sentence for being
abused."
Ufa general director Shamil Gazizov
said his club would not be calling for
Spartak to be punished, describing it
as an "unfortunate incident".
"There were people who could have
shouted things. These are emotions
which go away after the game. We are
partners with the red and whites and
are on good terms," he said.
"What Frimpong did was wrong.
Sometimes you even have to hold
back the tears and just put up with
it."
Russia hosts the next World Cup in
2018, and Frimpong added: "Abused...
and yet we going to hold a World Cup
in this country where Africans will
have to come play football."
Manchester City and Ivory Coast
midfielder Yaya Toure, who has been
racially abused while playing in
Russia in the Champions League, has
previously said black players might
boycott the World Cup unless the
country tackles racism in football.
Last season, Dynamo Moscow's
Congolese defender Christopher
Samba was banned for two matches
for gesturing to fans following racist
abuse.
There have been more than 200 cases
of discriminatory behaviour linked to
Russian football over the past two
seasons.
But in March former head of Russian
football Vyacheslav Koloskov said too
much is made of racism in the
country and has also questioned why
monkey chants are assumed to be
racist.

Arsenal warned off Aubameyana

Borussia Dortmund have warned
Arsenal against bidding for Pierre-

Gabon international Aubameyang

netting 26 times last season.
Arsenal reportedly failed with a bid

But, having allowed Ciro Immobile to

"I've heard a lot about this (a

Mourinho prepared to sell Guadrado just six month after £26m move

Chelsea are prepared to sell Juan
Cuadrado this summer just six
months after he joined Fiorentina
from £26.1m.
Cuadrado has struggled to make an
impact at Stamford Bridge since
moving to west London and started
just four League games under
manager Jose Mourinho.
But Cuadrado's problems have not
put clubs off from declaring an
interest with Juventus, Roma and
Inter Milan all keen to bring the
Colombia international back to Serie
A, where he impressed for Udinese
and Fiorentina.
However, so far the only offers that
have been made have either been
loan deals or for a fraction of the
asking price.
Chelsea are making it clear to all
parties that they will not consider
loan agreements or making a loss on
the Colombia international, so there
is still a possibility he will stay.
There has been a lot of speculation
that Cuadrado is also seeking a
return to Italy, but it is understood
Mourinho hasn't spoken with him
since the end of last season.
He will get the chance to do that
when Cuadrado joins Chelsea's pre-
season tour tomorrow in New York
having been given a longer break due
to playing in Copa America.
Chelsea, who are still confident of
signing Everton defender John
Stones, have looked into buying
Barcelona winger Pedro as a

Arsenal are considering a move for 29-year old Manchester city striker-Edin Dzeko

Arsene Wenger knows he needs
more firepower and the Bosnian has
cropped up in talks with his team.
The Emirates chief is worried his team
are relying too heavily on Olivier
Giroud up front as Danny Welbeck
struggles with a knee injury.
Wenger is well catered for in midfield
and can use Theo Walcott and Alex
Oxlade Chamberlain as additional
forwards – but he knows both
England stars are suspectible to
injury.
Dzeko, 29, is high on Roma’s wanted
list but wants to remain in the

He was former City boss Roberto
Mancini’s ninth signing but has never
held down a regular place despite a
decent strike rate.
The arrival of Raheem Sterling and the
possibility Kevin De Bruyne also
joining soon makes it ever harder for
him.
Wenger has always loved a big striker

he was willing to pay an ‘exceptional

Oscar says he has no interest in joining Juventus.

015
Oscar has insisted he has no interest
in joining Juventus and has
committed his long-term future to
Chelsea.
Juventus had hoped to sign the Brazil
international this summer and install
him as their new no10.
Oscar suffered a dip in form in the
second half of the last campaign, but
still has the full support of manager
Jose Mourinho.

And when asked by Standard Sport if
he had considered a move to the
Serie A champions, Oscar said: "No. I
know there has been a lot of talk
about Juventus, but I am very, very
happy at Chelsea.
"Last year I signed a new contract
and I want to stay a long time at
Chelsea. I have never been unsettled
by what was being said."
The Brazil international missed
Chelsea’s final run-in with a thigh
injury, and the setback cost him a
place at Copa America squad.
Now fully recovered, he plans to
make the most of pre-season ahead
of the new Premier League campaign.
“I missed the end of last season but
now I am over the injury and back to
full fitness,” he continued. “I have
been able to make the start of pre-
season and am here to prepare for
the season. I haven't been able to do
have a pre-season for the past five
years because I have had to play so
many games in the summer, so this
pre-season for me is very important.
“Most players don't like to get
injured, but it did force me to have a
rest,” he added. “This is important
and now I have no injury and will be
fresh for the season.
“It meant I had to miss the Copa
America, but sometimes this happens
in football and now I am feeling
fresh.”

Jose Mourinho will leave the big spending to Manchester.

The transfer merry-go-round is in
full swing yet José Mourinho is not
jumping on board. While Louis van
Gaal and his friend from across
Manchester, Manuel Pellegrini, are
flexing their financial muscles, the man
they are trying to catch is fine-tuning a
squad which was the strongest and,
ultimately, the best in the Premier
League last season.
Yes, United have rapidly brought in
quality at a cost. City’s £49m purchase
of Raheem Sterling is a stark indicator
of how serious their domestic ambitions
remain. Oh, and naturally Petr Cech, a
bedrock in the Portuguese’s first two
English titles, will become invaluable to
Arsenal.
Yet as Mourinho sits in Chelsea’s
Montreal base dressed in club blue, glint
firmly in eye, there are no pangs of
panic. Instead, bullish talk comes of his
champions being given the chance to
prove themselves even more
accomplished this time around. After all,
Manchester’s mammoth spend is their
prerogative. The only new faces at
Chelsea have been like-for-like
purchases – Radamel Falcao , who will
join up with the squad in New York on
Tuesday following an extended break
after the Copa América, for Didier
Drogba and Amir Begovic for Cech.
Mourinho, like every other manager in
world football, is an admirer of the
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. He is
confident of landing Everton’s John
Stones, who will be the target of a
renewed offer this coming week. Yet
Mourinho will not be hamstrung if
Stones, Pogba or anyone else for that
matter who does not fancy a move to
Stamford Bridge. He is happy with his
lot.

I wasn't given an honest chance to win my place back-Robin Van Persie.

ROBIN VAN PERSIE wanted something
“more special,” something to represent
him and his journey. So, at Sukru
Saracoglu stadium, before 18,000 manic
fans and 25 camera crews, he took to the
pitch with Bouchra, his wife, Shaqueel,
his son, and Dina, his daughter.
Instead of the usual sight of a new
signing doing a couple of keepy-uppies
on their pitch, Fenerbahce’s faithful got
the whole Van Persie clan. Robin juggled
the ball with Shaqueel and swapped
passes with shy little Dina. Turks, family
people, loved it. “They were even singing
my name!” Bouchra laughs.
Shaqueel, eight, highly promising, will
join Fenerbahce’s academy, having been
at Manchester City’s. “Now he says ‘dad,
at our presentation…’ because he thinks
he made a transfer as well,” Van Persie
grins. “That’s the target I wanted to
reach. My family are as much part of
this move as me.”

Van Gaal is still searching for two more players to complete his squad.

Van Gaal is irked that United face a
potentially hazardous two legged play
off next month to qualify for the
group stage of the lucrative
Champions League after ending up in
fourth place following his first season
in charge.
That is why he is adamant there
should be no repeat of what he
classes as a campaign of under
achievement and why he splashing
the cash with four signings already,
Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin,
Bastian Schweinsteiger and Matteo
Darmian at a total cost of around £80
million.
He wants a front line striker and a
central defender plus a top keeper if
David de Gea finally departs for his
dream club Real Madrid.
Van Gaal would take either of Bayern
Munich's strikers, Thomas Muller and
Robert Lewandowski if the German
club could be persuaded to let
another star leave the Allianz Arena
for Old Trafford in the footsteps of
Schweinsteiger and is also monitoring
the situation surrounding Barcelona's
£22 million rated forward Pedro.
He is in talks with Argentina
international keeper Sergio Romero, a
free agent after leaving Sampdoria, to
replace the outgoing Victor Valdes and
would make a £20 million move for
Ajax's Dutch international keeper
Jasper Cillessen if De Gea departs for
Spain.

Angel Di Maria must hand in transfer request if he wants to leave old trafford

Angel di Maria will have to formally
ask Manchester United for a transfer
if he wants to leave Old Trafford.
With his wife unhappy in Manchester
and Paris Saint-Germain keen to sign
the Premier League’s record signing
— he cost £59.7million — it seems as
though the winger’s career at United
could come to an end after just one
season.
But despite signing one wide player
in Memphis Depay and exploring the
possibility of another in Barcelona’s
Pedro, United manager Louis van Gaal
still sees Di Maria as an integral part
of his first-team squad.
