Chelsea Bound? John Stones to Chelsea

Nearly nine in 10 Standard Sport
readers have backed John Stones to
successfully replace John Terry at
Chelsea in the long term.
The Everton defender, who it is
believed wants a move to Stamford
Bridge, is at the centre of a transfer
tussle that is threatening to turn
nasty.
Jose Mourinho has identified the
defender as Terry's successor in the
first team but the Toffees are
desperate to keep hold him and sent a
letter to the club officially declining
an opening bid.
Roberto Martinez has already hit out
at Chelsea for going public with their
interest in Stones, sparking a strong
reaction from Mourinho, who appears
to be growing impatient.
The Portuguese boss said on
Wednesday: "Our strategy for the
Premier League is going to change
next year. Next year we are going to
make the first bid on the first of
September. On the first of September
we will do a bid for the season later
