Manchester City, keen on signing Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez

Manchester City will have to spend in excess
of £20m to land Southampton striker Jay
Rodriguez.
The England international is one of a clutch of
home grown players being monitored by the
Premier League champions ahead of a
summer of change at the Etihad.
Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling are also on
their wanted list.
But just as with those two, City will be forced
to spend heavily if they want to land
Rodriguez.
Southampton are determined to hold on to the
25-year-old, who has been sidelined all season
with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
Tottenham are also keen to sign him this
summer, with former Saints manager Mauricio
Pochettino eager to be reunited with the
forward at White Hart Lane.
But Southampton are not encouraging bids
and rejected approaches from Spurs last
season.
