Summer Move for Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen to Everton

It is claimed Everton are already planning
for next season and a bid for the former
Gunner could be made in the coming
months.
A fee has not been mooted for the player,
who has been plagued by a troublesome
hamstring in recent months, but the Catalan
giants may struggle to recoup the
£15million they paid to take him away from
the Emirates last August, given his injury
troubles.
It has, though, been suggested Barcelona
may be willing to cut their losses on
Vermaelen, who could be lined up as a
replacement for 37-year-old centre-back
Sylvain Distin.
