Gary Bowyer, the Blackburn Rovers
manager, has said that Rudy Gestede will
not be allowed to leave Ewood Park for
less than his market value in a summer
fire sale.
The Sky Bet Championship club need to
raise revenue to cut their debts and ease
the impact of a restrictive transfer
embargo, making player sales almost
inevitable. Gestede is the club’s chief
asset, but Blackburn have already turned
down a £3.5 million bid from Crystal
Palace and are likely to hold out for
nearer double that amount, with the 26-
year-old on 19 goals for the season in all
competitions.
